Though it is often referred to as complex, the mining puzzle is actually fairly simple and can be described as guesswork. The puzzle is called proof of work (PoW), a reference to the computational work expended by miners to mine bitcoin. At the heart of bitcoin mining is a math puzzle that miners are supposed to solve in order to earn bitcoin rewards.
In particular, token collateralized bridges, which require the issuance of another token, fit very poorly in a design of a Bitcoin sidechain. It must be a money token. However not all of the previously described bridges are good for sidechains. Gresham’s Law stipulates that "good" money will be saved, rather than spent, pushing "bad" money to be used for payments. Every sidechain needs a bridge to the parent chain.
